Can I print my book in hardcover?

Yes. You will have the option to print your book as a hardcover with a printed case or as a hardcover with a dust jacket.

What is a hardcover with printed case?

A hardcover with printed case finish is a covering for a hardcover book. The cover image is printed directly on a wrapper that folds around the front and back book boards that make up the hardcover. It’s typically seen with non-fiction titles, photo books, cookbooks, and textbooks.

How is the book page count calculated?

The book page count is different from how pages are numbered. NOOK Press starts the page count from the first page in the book to the last. If you choose to start your page numbering 10 pages in, those first 10 pages are still a part of the overall book count. If your interior PDF file is submitted with an odd number of pages, we will add a blank page to the end for printing purposes.

How is my cover made?

The NOOK Press print platform requires you to upload a separate front cover PDF and back cover PDF. We will calculate the spine size of your book based on a variety of factors, and prompt you to pick from three spine colors and to add your Title and Author Name, if desired. We then stitch the front and back covers to the spine to make a complete cover for you to proof.

For Dust Jackets, we will generate white front and back flaps and will stitch these to the front and back covers. We hope to offer text on the flaps very soon.
